Frequently Asked Questions

1.How long does the online LCQ take to complete?
Most people who work in industry can complete within a day including assessment. However we know that working in hospo can be hectic so we give you up to 9 weeks to complete the online LCQ course. 

2.Can I do it from home?
Yes you can do it anywhere, at work in Courtney Place in Wellington, up a mountain in Queenstown, on your tablet at Piha Beach in Auckland or on your phone in the Square in Christchurch. 

3. Is an online course as good as going to a class?
Our Online LCQ course is designed with your learning experience in mind. We've been delivering this course for over 15 years and have created easy-to-follow lessons with plenty of activities to assist your learning. Rest assured, the course and assessment have met the standards required by the Workforce Development Councils. By the time you have finished you will have a thorough knowldege of what it takes to be a great Duty Manager.

4. What's involved in the online LCQ?
Our LCQ course is structured in a way that allows you to progress through each lesson at your own pace. As you complete each lesson, the next one will become available. Each lesson comes with a set of activities and quizzes to help reinforce your understanding of the material. The final assessment is also completed online, but don't worry, our team at The Learning Place will review and mark your submission. Once your assessment has been marked, we will notify you of your results within five working days. We will send you a digital LCQ Certificate so you can you can use this to apply for your Duty Managers Certificate.

5. How do you know it's me taking the course?
You must provide your personal information to register for the course. We do have measures to make sure it's really you completing the course. We might ask you to do a video call to confirm your identity and that you finished the course by yourself.
