Frequently asked questions

1. Why is online LCQ better for me?

The world of hospitality is often frantic, finding time to attend a course can be almost impossible. Online LCQ allows you to complete the course in your own time, at your own pace. We allow you 45 days to complete your learning and assesment from the time you enrol.

2. Is an online course as good as going to a class?

We have been delivering LCQ for over 15 years. Our LCQ course has been created with your learning experience at the forefront of the design. Lessons are easy to follow, and include lots of activities to help you with your learning. The course and assessment have passed the requirements of Service IQ moderation.

3. How long does the online LCQ take to complete?

This varies greatly from person to person, and will depend on your experience in the industry. We allow you 45 days to complete your course. If you have not completed the assessment within the timeframe your course will expire, and will need to enrol again.

4. What's involved in the online LCQ?

The course is made up of a series of lessons, each one is unlocked when the previous one has been completed. The lessons include activities and quizzes that build towards the final assessment. The final assessment is also completed online, but is submitted to the team at The Learning Place for marking. Once marking has been completed, we will advise you of your result.

5. How do you know it's me taking the course?

When you enrol on the course, you are required to provide your personal details to complete the registration process. Getting someone else to complete your LCQ for you is fraudulent.  We have a range of checks throughout the course that ensure authenticity. You may be required to participate in a video call to verify your identity and ensure you have completed the learning yourself.

6. How much experience do I need?

The LCQ is compliance based training and you must be able to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of the law when you meet with the licensing inspector to apply for your Manager's Certificate. Usually you are required to have at least 6 months work experience in a licensed premise before applying for a Manager's Certificate.

7. What if I'm stuck?
