The Licence Controller Qualification

The Licence Controller Qualification or LCQ is the training and assessment required before you apply for your Manager's Certificate to manage licensed premises. It is made up of two Level 4 unit standards, Unit Standard 4646: Demonstrate knowledge of the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012 and its implications for licensed premises and Unit Standard 16705: Demonstrate knowledge of host responsibility requirements as a duty manager of licensed premises.

Successfully completing the LCQ demonstrates knowledge of the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act (2012) and its implications for licensed premises, and knowledge of host responsibility requirements as a duty manager of licensed premises.Businesses that sell alcohol must have a properly qualified person in charge at all times.

Once you have successfully passed the online LCQ we will put the two units onto your record of learning and apply and pay for your LCQ Certificate to Service IQ . This is included as part of the $150.00 you pay to us. After you have received your LCQ Certificate you can apply to your local District Licensing Committee for your Managers Certificate.
