Step by step process to get your LCQ

Step 1 - Enrol and Pay
Submit your completed form and make your payment.

Step 2 - Check Your Inbox
After enrolling, you’ll receive important emails, including:
A Welcome email with instructions to begin your LCQ course.
A login link to access our online learning platform, KuraCloud.
A receipt confirming your payment.
Please review your email junk/spam folder as our messages may occasionally end up there.

Step 3 - Set Up Your KuraCloud Account
Your KuraCloud email will include a course access link. Follow the link to create your own username and password. We recommend bookmarking this page for quick access.

Step 4 - Complete Lessons
Now, you can progress through the course lessons, which include learning materials, activities, and knowledge assessments. Lessons must be completed in order, leading to the final assessment lesson.

Step 5 - Assessment
Do your assessment online and submit it. Make sure to download a copy of your assessment for your records.

Step 6 - Assessment Review
Our assessors will mark your assessment within five working days and notify you of the results. If you pass, you will receive a "completed" email, and your result will be recorded on your NZQA learning profile.

Step 7 - Resubmission Option
In case of a non-passing result, you will have the opportunity for one resubmission.
We will email the incorrect answers to you, and you can reply directly to the email with your revised answers.

Step 8 - Resubmission Evaluation
Our assessors will review your resubmission and inform you of the outcome. Upon success, you will receive a "Completed" email, and your results will be added to your NZQA learning profile.

Step 9 - Certification
Once NZQA processes your unit standards, we will send you a digital copy of your License Controller Qualification Certificate via email.

Step 10 - Manager's Certificate Application
After receiving your LCQ Certificate, you can apply for your Manager's Certificate through your local District Licensing Committee. To identify your local committee, visit this link: www.localcouncils.govt.nz.
